Day Eight: Behold the Lord Passeth By

Forty-Day Advent Journey
Day Eight: Small Gestures

Sometimes God uses unexpected people in quiet ways to reach out to us…to comfort us, to tell us He is with us; that He cares….amazing how we forget sometimes that He is always there.

Read I Kings 19: 9-12 and think of how God blesses you in quiet ways….how you can be a blessing to others in quiet ways…

Listen to this beautifully performed version of Mendelssohn’s great oratorio Elijah and “Behold the Lord Passeth By”

If you like, please share with me an occasion in your life when God spoke to you through someone’s “small gesture”….

Blessings and thanks for reading:)

  1. Now it is proper to use the word awesome. The scripture and the music together gives a full meaning. Over year of traveling, I have entertained many angel unaware. One day a girl carried my luggage when I was very weary.
