Advent Journey, Day Eight: Small Gestures

GTA Advent Journey
Day Eight: Small Gestures

Sometimes God uses unexpected people in quiet ways to reach out to us…to comfort us, to tell us He is with us; that He cares….amazing how we forget sometimes that He is always near.

Please read and consider I Kings 19: 9-12

The Lord said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the Lord, for the Lord is about to pass by.”

Then a great and powerful wind tore the mountain apart and shattered the rocks before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind.

After the wind there was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

After the earthquake came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire came a gentle whisper.

When Elijah heard it, he pulled his cloak over his face and went out and stood at the mount of the cave.

Now listen to one of the most dramatic moments in all the Bible as 19th century German composer Felix Mendelssohn highlights Elijah’s encounter with God…

Think of how God blesses you in quiet ways.

How can you be a blessing to others in quiet ways today?

Blessings and Peace:)
